Team Ferris Racing (TFR) is located out of Hackettstown, New Jersey about 50 miles west of New York City. TFR has a wealth of karting experience. TFR's roots started in the early 1960's when John Ferris Sr. bought his first kart with his paper route money. From there it has been nonstop, year after year, track after track. In the early 1980's two new racers joined the team; sons John and Scott. The father and sons raced together at the WKA and IKF national races becoming both WKA National Champions and IKF race winners.
The entire team has been active in supporting kart racing in the state of New Jersey and the tri-state area. In the 1980's the team promoted karting at Great Meadow Karting then in the 1990's was a major supporter for Flemington Speedway Karting. In 2000's the family once again took on promoting events at Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. In 2009 John created the New Jersey Sprint Series to offer local racers more opportunities to compete; hosting WKA divisional series. In 2008, John’s son Connor and Scott's son Tyler started racing Kid Karts at Raceway Park. Now both Connor and Tyler have multiple National, Regional and local race wins along with a National Championship for Tyler.
In 2015, John rebranded his New Jersey Sprint Series into present day Team Ferris Racing. The team is eager to share 60 years of karting knowledge with its clients as they travel to national, regional, and club level events. With the support of his brother Scott, and father John, the team is set to develop the next generation of champions.
